HCMC asks residents to continue wearing face masks

HCMC Vice Chairman Le Thanh Liem signed an urgent dispatch on October 8 asking the municipal departments and districts to be attentive and continue to strictly follow Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures.

Residents should strictly wear face masks in public places, especially when they use public transport, wash their hands with sanitizers regularly, restrict large gatherings and maintain a safe physical distance, the local media reported.

Apart from ensuring full compliance with these Covid-19 infection prevention measures and imposing harsh sanctions on violators, the competent departments and agencies should stay alert and efficiently prevent Covid-19 infections in hospitals, schools, supermarkets, wet markets, residential areas and quarantine facilities.

Moreover, the municipal government asked the health care sector to ensure adequate facilities and workforce to meet Covid-19 infection prevention and control requirements at a time the city starts receiving commercial international flights. It was also urged to regularly launch training courses responding to the spread of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
